This week we have Carole Stagg with “Savouring (Not The Food Type)”.

A way to build positive emotions, increase your mental and social functioning and lead a flourishing life.

Looking after our mental health and wellbeing has been recognised as paramount to maintaining good physical health, building resilience and strengthening our immune system. How can we maximise the pleasant experiences in life and get the most from them?

In this taster session (pun intended, although it’s not really about food per se) we can start to understand Savouring as a concept, it’s links with Mindfulness and the part it plays in reducing stress and anxiety whilst increasing meaning and purpose in our lives.

– This is for anyone who would like to know more about building positive emotions and positive affect.

 

Carole is a Positive Psychologist, Coach and Mindfulness (MBCT/SR) Facilitator with over 25 years experience in the field of Mental Health, Health and Wellbeing. With a background in fine Arts (MA RCA) and Psychology (MSc MAPP), she has combined her specialisms to enable individuals, groups, communities and organisations to flourish.

She has worked with the public, voluntary and private sector including Mind, SLAM and various borough Public Health and Health Trust departments. This includes two years in the NHS, developing a Health Coaching Pilot and Service within GP surgeries and Medical Centres. She currently runs a private coaching practice and works as a Wellbeing Consultant.

She lives this out as a Business, Brand & Website Architect at Charma Communications; a boutique marketing and communications agency, which supports both ambitious and aspiring entrepreneurs. She also is founder of the Idea To Launch Academy which supports entrepreneurs on their journey.

The webinar will give you the opportunity to learn how to spot legal issues, assess the legal health of your organisation and access free legal advice from pro bono lawyers through TrustLaw.

– Non-profit organisations or social enterprises that require legal support or assistance in identifying their legal needs.

IBU Lunch & Learn – How to make new friends in your 30’s+

This week we have Marilena Dyranis-Maounis with “How to make new friends in your 30’s+”.

Making friends becomes harder over the years, due to changes in your direct social circle and having fewer opportunities to meet new people. Sometimes, everyone around you seems busy and unavailable, but there are ways and mindsets that can help break down these barriers. Take advice from a woman who cannot have enough friends and is always looking for new ways to make more.

 

This session is ideal:

 

Marilena has worked for events for 20 years, so observing social human behaviour has been her favourite work entertainment.

Plus she got her BSc Psychology early on in life and has constantly been expanding her knowledge on the human Psyche. And, she cannot have enough friends, so even now in her first year of 40+ is looking for new ways to meet new people and actually create meaningful friendships.

Exclusive Member Yoga with Sabine Reisinger

Whilst the national restrictions are in place, we will introduce a number of additional online activities so grab your mat and join us for our weekly yoga session.

Sabine Reisinger is offering exclusive member Yoga sessions for 8 weeks!

Sabine is a 700 hours RYT certified yoga teacher and a results trained coach and she will be delivering yoga classes on Tuesdays exclusively to Impact Brixton members.

The class is an all-levels dynamic vinyasa yoga practice. Experience a gentle workout, which combined with breathing techniques, creates a moving meditation.

Sabine is passionate about personal growth and how our mindset can change anything. She loves being a student herself and is always focused on shifting perspectives and creating awareness around her habits, which shows in her way of teaching.

Equipment: Yoga mat.

Wear gym gear please. 

Nice to have: If you have yoga blocks, bring these. If not robust books will do as well.

Impact Brixton – Weekly Members Check-In 25th May

We know that working on your own business can feel lonely and sometimes you just need a space to be inspired, vent frustrations or ask for help.

Our member’s weekly check-in is where you can come and talk to other IB members and support each other through this time whether it be business or personal, we are family and will get through this time together.

Rachael has successfully fundraised for projects ranging from youth work, community gardens, support for older people and volunteering.

Robin Pharoah can be considered one of the early pioneers of the use of anthropological thought and ethnographic research for research and innovation in the UK. He has founded a multiple award-winning research agency, worked across all sectors with multi-nationals, governments and the 3rd sector, and has recognised expertise in understanding Chinese culture and consumers, as well as working with ‘hard to reach’ populations locally and internationally to uncover new insights.
