Everything you need to know about hiring The Distillery
How much does it cost to hire The Distillery?
Hire starts from £200 per hour. The final price depends on how long you need the room, your guest count, the bar package, and any food layered in. Bar tabs and drinks packages are quoted on top, and we keep everything itemised so you can see what you’re paying for. WhatsApp us with your date and rough guest numbers for a fixed quote.
Where can I hire a private bar in Brixton by the hour?
The Distillery at Impact Brixton, 17a Electric Lane, Brixton Village (SW9 8LA) is a fully licensed private bar available for hourly hire from £200. It’s a hidden venue inside Brixton Village — two minutes from Brixton Underground — with its own small-batch distillery, projector, and hi-fi sound system. WhatsApp us with your date and we’ll come back with a quote.
Can I serve alcohol at a private event in The Distillery?
Yes. The Distillery has its own full alcohol licence, so cocktails, spirits, wine, and beer are all served by our bar team. You don’t need to apply for an external licence or bring in a separate supplier — everything is handled in-house.
What kinds of events work well in The Distillery?
Launch parties, brand activations, film screenings, private dinners, birthday parties, networking drinks, and after-parties layered on top of a daytime event in our main space. The room has a projector and hi-fi sound, so anything that needs visuals or curated music works well. Tastings and distillery experiences using our small-batch spirits are also a popular format.
How many guests can The Distillery hold?
The Distillery is built for intimate gatherings rather than large conferences — think dinners, drinks, and parties where the energy stays in one room. For exact numbers based on your layout (seated dining, standing reception, theatre-style for a screening), WhatsApp us — we’ll confirm what works for your guest count.
Is The Distillery available evenings and weekends?
Yes. Most distillery hires are evening or weekend bookings — that’s when the room comes alive. Daytime bookings are also possible for tastings, brand shoots, private lunches, or tied-in event programmes.
Can I bring my own food, caterer, or DJ?
Food — yes. We work with restaurants downstairs in Brixton Village (Nuvola Pizza, Mama Doe, Jalisco, Satay Bar, and others) and we’re happy for you to bring an external caterer if you’d prefer. DJs — yes, the room has hi-fi sound and we can plug in your set-up. Drinks — we keep these in-house because of the on-site licence and the small-batch spirits we make ourselves.
What’s a small-batch distillery doing inside a coworking space?
Impact Brixton is more than a coworking space — it’s a multi-room venue inside Brixton Village. The Distillery is the licensed bar and small-batch spirits operation that runs inside the building. Spirits are made on-site, exclusive to The Distillery, and served at private events. It’s a story we love telling our guests.
Can I combine The Distillery with the main event space?
Yes. Many bookings start as a workshop, away day, or product launch in our main event space (up to 60 people) and roll into The Distillery for drinks afterwards. We can quote both spaces together so you’ve got one venue, one team, one invoice.
How do I get to The Distillery by public transport?
The Distillery is at 17a Electric Lane, Brixton Village, London SW9 8LA — two minutes from Brixton Underground (Victoria line). Exit the station, walk down Electric Avenue, turn left into Electric Lane. The entrance is inside Brixton Village market. Multiple bus routes serve Brixton, and Brixton overground (London Overground) is a short ride away.
Can I do a site visit before booking?
Yes — please do. The Distillery is one of those rooms that makes more sense once you’ve stood in it. WhatsApp us to arrange a tour. Hosted hours are Monday to Friday, 9am to 6pm.
How far in advance should I book?
Two weeks is comfortable for weekday bookings. Weekend and evening slots fill up faster — aim for three to four weeks ahead. Last-minute is sometimes possible. WhatsApp us to check availability for your date.
Is The Distillery wheelchair accessible?
Impact Brixton is on the first floor of Brixton Village and there is currently no lift to the first floor, so the venue is not wheelchair accessible. We’re actively working on this in the longer term. If you have specific accessibility needs, please WhatsApp us and we’ll do our best to help.
